Sandbach Rugby Club’s Jack Seddon and Andy Mitchell were celebrated at Sandbach Town Council’s 2026 Civic Awards on Wednesday 29th April.
Sandbach Mayor, John Arnold, presented the awards to the worthy recipients at a special ceremony, highlighting everything that is great about the historic town.
Jack is the club’s Facilities Director, overseeing the club’s development projects, groundskeeping and much more, as well as a senior player. He has been involved with the club for over half his life, starting out when he was six. Jack has volunteered his time off the pitch for over eight years, putting in the same amount of energy and enthusiasm as he does when playing.
Andy, known affectionately as Mitch, has just finished a successful stint as coach of the Senior Colts team. He has held numerous roles at the club including Mini and Junior Chair, Honorary Secretary, first team admin support and he is one of the club’s photographers, regularly covering senior matches and other club events. He carries out these roles, and many more, quietly, reliably and without ever seeking recognition.
Both Jack and Andy’s dedicated and outstanding contributions to the club, play a vital role in making Sandbach Rugby Club the thriving and successful club that it is today.
