On yet another "too good for rugby" weather day, a surprisingly complete, for Sandbach U14's, team turned out to face the always strong team from Bowdon. The sick list was massively reduced with only Gilo (knee) - good effort for going along to support and Ken (me!) who's back wouldn't quite get out of bed. Hence the reduced match report.
I am led to understand that Sandbach started with an extremely high level of intensity and a fine display of mauling resulted in Bowdon being on the back foot. Sandbach scored all their tries utilising forward fire power but it is clear that more unit play is needed to demonstrate what we are truly capable of.
Special mention needs to be made of Bowdon's blind side. He demonstrated how the no. 6 position should be played and without doubt our back row can learn a thing or two about counter rucking from him - well done!
So another good result but more work on the training ground needed - see you all Wednesday!
