Braving the freezing rain, our reporter can confirm the following:

Returning to Bradwall Road after the previous week’s excitement on tour saw Sandbach U14s taking on Stockport in the most unspringlike of conditions.

Despite being a friendly, given a couple of close encounters last season, the match definitely had the air of being more – at least it did once Sandbach had woken up half way through the first half – having gone two tries down.

Having proved their resilience, roll on next week’s Cheshire Plate semi-final against Anselmians- bizarrely a re-match of the preliminary round from earlier this season – so, no doubt, an opportunity to reconfirm the progress made this season…..hopefully!
