Sandbach 20 – Crewe & Nantwich 0

Taking to the first team pitch for the Cheshire Plate quarter final, it was clear the occasion was not lost on the squad – and even increased, if that was possible, the tension of a derby.

From the start it was clear that the Sandbach forwards were dominating – ensuring the possession and space required to play the sort of rugby we have at our best through the season so far.

Taking control of the game in the way meant that by half time two tries were scored – a feat that was matched in the second half – with no reply from Crewe & Nantwich.

The performance and result demonstrate what can be achieved when each and every player throughout the squad plays to the best of their ability – and the strengths of the team are fully capitalised upon.

Next stop – the semi-final!
