Sandbach 5 – Warrington 39
Sandbach Try Scorer: Matt Caen
Back to earth with a New Year bump!
After the extended Christmas break and training sessions, this Sunday saw the U14s return to competitive rugby with a match against an understrength Warrington in freezing conditions.
However, “understrength” only referred to Warrington’s number of players (13) rather than anything to do with the capability of the squad – something that was evident within the first few minutes of the game when Warrington scored.
As the game progressed, Warrington’s dominance was only interspersed with one well made Sandbach try (by Matt Caen) and a number of injuries .
Warrington’s dominance was demonstrated by final score, but special thanks goes to the Sandbach boys who played for Warrington.
Unfortunately, the second half was concluded slightly early due to a potentially series injury to Elliot in his first game for Sandbach – our best wishes go out to him for a speedy recovery.
