Following a solid victory last weekend, Sandbach’s attention now turns to their first home game of the new season, when they welcome Doncaster Phoenix to Bradwall Road. The South Yorkshire outfit also had a win a week ago, so similarly will be approaching the game with a degree of confidence. Sandbach did the double over Phoenix in the last campaign, but prior to that the visitors had been their bogey side, with the Bach always losing to them. Accordingly, Sandbach will need to be wary and in particular of a usually lively back division, who love to play at pace and counterattack, should you give them time and space.
The weekend also sees the first outing of the match programme and the club is grateful once more to Chris Bennett for pulling it all together, Phil Bell for coordinating player sponsors and of course the sponsors themselves. Equally, we are indebted to Crewe Colour Printers for their time, expertise, and generosity in producing what is arguably the best programme for miles around. We also thank those who have contributed articles, to make it an interesting read and not just an advertising platform.
As a thanks to all the support received by the local community during the pandemic, the club has decided on free entry to the game, for this week only. The Under 11’s will provide a curtain raiser and there will be a hog roast and the usual extensive catering menu provided from Symphony. So, if you have been to the club for a function, or a Sunday roast, or just a beer in the marquee over the last 12 months, but not been to a live game? Here is your chance.
Further good luck to all our teams on Saturday, who travel across the region.
