Sandbach travel to the West Midlands on Saturday, hoping to keep there good start to the season going when they visit Dudley Kingswinford, who have also won their first two league games. Both teams will have a degree of confidence given their start, with the home team still riding the wave having been promoted back to the Midlands Premier League as champions of Midlands 1 West. It has been some time since Sandbach last played DK, in the season 2014/15 when Sandbach won both games, but the South Staffordshire outfit has rebuilt since then and have been knocking on the door of promotion for the last few seasons.
From what we can glean from the various sources, the opposition are well organised, with a big pack and plenty of powerful runners. Sandbach will certainly need to be fully focused and will have worked on a few defensive issues, that crept into their game late on last Saturday, when they slipped off a few tackles. It is however games like this that prove crucial come the end of the season if teams are to push for those all-important promotion spots.
Sandbach visitors should enjoy their trip to a picturesque ground that can boast of a 260-seat main stand. This though should not be needed in terms of weather protection, as the forecast is for sunny intervals and light winds, which should help the visitors with their open fast paced game. Fingers crossed for another win on the road.
