Sandbach are looking to bounce back to winning ways at the weekend when they travel to Nuneaton RFC for Round 5 of the Midlands Premier League season. Liberty Way is always a difficult place to get a result at and Sandbach will need to match the physicality and mindset shown against Newport, to stand any chance of coming away with a victory. Despite the narrow loss to the League leaders, there were lots of positives, with clear improvements on the areas worked on during the week. Sandbach made plenty of chances, which with a few small adjustments, will hopefully be converted this weekend.
Nuneaton have won one from three, but each game has been close, with just a score in it, so Sandbach know it is going to be a challenge. By all accounts they have a big pack and in fly half Rick Aley they have a renowned marksman with the boot, so Sandbach will be wary of conceding penalties anywhere within range. The weather forecast doesn’t look great either, but Sandbach should be used to that by now, when they visit the largest town in Warwickshire. Over the nine years that they have played them, they have experienced hailstorms, howling gales and spectacular rainbows, out on the meadow. So, the predicted heavy rain showers and moderate breeze, is only to be expected.
