Sandbach welcome high flying Syston on Saturday, who will travel with plenty of confidence having won their last six games and finding themselves with a decent chance of promotion. Sandbach will certainly be looking to dent these hopes and will be seeking revenge after a disappointing display earlier in the season, when they visited Barkby Road. In that game Sandbach were missing a few key individuals due to injury and availability and then suffered further injuries during the game, causing them to be overpowered by an organised and committed home team. Accordingly, they will be keen to put that right on Saturday, but as the visitors’ recent results show, that will be no easy task.
Last weeks performance against Paviors was encouraging for Sandbach, but there are still areas to work on, with the set piece and breakdown being focused upon in training this week. What could well be the biggest factor though is likely to be the weather, which is a great leveler in any game and with rain showers and a breeze forecast, it could well be who copes best with the conditions, that proves critical in the end.
