Sandbach travel to Worcestershire on Saturday, in what will be their last away trip in the Midlands Premier, following the reorganisation of the leagues at the end of the season by the RFU. Over the ten years since Sandbach gained promotion to this level, they have made many friends in the league and Bromsgrove are no exception to that, and the Bach will no doubt once again receive a friendly welcome. Games between the two teams are traditionally close, but on Sandbach’s three previous visits to Finstall Park, they have yet to register a win. So, they will be keen to put that right, and in the process, move above their opponents in the league.
Sandbach will be missing one or two regulars from the team, due to club physiotherapist Jack Mullins deciding to get married in the rugby season. Though to be fair he has had the big event cancelled a few times due to Covid and the club wish him and his wife to be Steph all the best. Sandbach at least will have the benefit of a few students back from their university studies to potentially fill any gaps. With the Cheshire Cup final on the horizon on the May Bank Holiday weekend, they will be keen to see out the campaign with a flourish and give them momentum as they look to win some silverware, to end the season on a high.
