Sandbach welcome Burton to Bradwall Road on Saturday for what will be our final league game of the season, and what promises to be another challenging encounter against an inform Burton side. Burton have won their last six games in a row, including a victory at the league champions Newport, so clearly, they will be confident of getting a result. Meanwhile Sandbach will be keen to have momentum, after three solid wins themselves, as they build for a Cheshire Cup final against Anselmians. While at this time of the season often there is not a lot to play for, but both teams will be keen to finish in style and use this as a springboard for the next campaign, so expect another close one.
This is likely to be the last time we play Burton for some time, with the league restructure coming in next season and Sandbach scheduled to come back to the Northwest league and returning to play against many old adversaries. Certainly, there will be a lot less travelling, with at least half a dozen games within forty minutes’ drive, but we will miss many friendships built up over the ten years in the Midlands Premier.
With it being the last league game of the season, a big celebration is planned and what better way to party than a family fun day. Also, during the day, you will see the Junior Colts being presented with their League Trophy before the match and after the game we will also see the Senior Player Awards given out. So, with live music, bouncy castles & soft play, ice cream vans, milkshakes, Noughts & Crosses pizza van, Symphony Catering and of course our great bar, all the ingredients are there. Make sure you don’t miss out on the celebration of a good season.
