Sandbach will be looking to get back to winning ways, having failed to make the most of their chances, in a tight game away at Nuneaton last weekend. The visitors Paviors are new to Sandbach, having just come into the league this season and have made a solid start to their campaign, winning four of their seven opening games and lie just below Sandbach in the table. Paviors are based in the market town of Arnold, between Nottingham and Mansfield and have their origins as an old boys’ team of former pupils, of the High Pavement Grammar School in Nottingham. By all accounts they are a sizable outfit, both upfront and in the back division, so Sandbach will need to front up physically and look to move them around as much as possible, if they are to maintain their league position this week.
There are a couple of injuries in the back-row area that has been playing recently, but Sandbach have plenty of competition in that department, from several quality players able to come in. Scrum half Nick Allsop is available again this weekend and winger Will Sant also comes into consideration, as he is fully fit again, following injury in the first preseason game away at Fylde. Rain is forecast for Saturday, but that shouldn’t dampen the spirits for rugby and with the England game on at the club in the morning and breakfast and a cup of tea for a fiver, a good day is anticipated.
