Saturday sees the arrival of Old Halesonians to Bradwall Road for the third home game in a row. Having decided to return to return to their tradition roots as an old boy’s club, without the assistance of hired hands, Old Hales are having a bit of a difficult time in the league and need a real change from somewhere, if they are to get out of the relegation places. By all accounts they are now a young side, wanting a bit in size and experience, but more that make up for it in enthusiasm and heart. They have been a solid fixture in this league for some years now and their games with Sandbach have always been close affairs.
Sandbach however have been on a good run of form but will look to utilise the depth of the squad for the game and rest one or two players, who have been carrying injuries. This gives an opportunity to those players to stake a claim for a first team slot and show why they should be playing on a regular basis. So, plenty of incentive for the home side as well.
Following last week’s rather stuttering performance, Sandbach will need to be focused and disciplined if they are to get near to challenging the top two. They do however have a bit of a record of messing it up against lower league opposition, so it is vital that they do not take Old Halesonians lightly. Experience has shown on their day anybody can beat anybody in this league.
