Sandbach make the short journey to South Manchester to play Wilmslow on Friday night, under lights in the semi-final of the Cheshire Vase and will be looking to get back to winning ways, after the frustration of defeat last Saturday. They will certainly be hoping to put right the small errors that proved so critical but won’t find there North 1 West League opponents easy, as they currently head their league and come off the back of an impressive win at the weekend over Waterloo.
Sandbach have tripped up before at this stage of the competition, so will be keen to avoid that, but also can rest the odd player and try a few out. With seven replacements allowed at this stage and the Saxons continuing to impress, as they lead the Cotton Traders Championship, they have the ideal opportunity to look at players and combinations. However, with local pride at stake and the chance for the Wolves to bag some prey from the Division above, that can often be a delicate issue for the coaching team to balance.
