Matt Bebbington the Sedgley Park Head coach is to strengthen the Sandbach coaching team next season

Director of Rugby Willie Stockdale is delighted to announce a further strengthening to the coaching team, with the addition of the highly rated Head Coach of National 2 Sedgley Tigers, Matt Bebbington.

As well as guiding the North Manchester outfit to the play off’s in 2017/2018, once again they have narrowly missed out on promotion again this year, finishing 3rd in National 2. Matt endorses an exciting, dynamic brand of attacking rugby, where over the last 2 years, his team have scored, on average, over 30 points and nearly 5 tries in every game.

Matt also has coached the North Under 20’s squad. As Head of Senior Rugby at Wilmslow High School where he oversees the organisation and coaching of the senior rugby programme, he has over ten years of quality coaching experience, and the school has achieved both regional and national success. Matt will augment the current coaching team assisting Sale Sharks and former England hooker Rob Webber, who remains as Head Coach. Sale Sharks Academy Coach and Manchester Grammar School PE Head Andy Bird completes the management group, as he also continues in his role as assistant head coach.

Matt with his formative years in Widnes and rugby league, will no doubt be looking to further develop an all court game and despite the season only just ending, Sandbach are already looking forward to the next campaign with anticipation.
