Sandbach RUFC are delighted to announce that Mark Irving will join the coaching staff at Bradwall Road from July 2021. Mark joins us with a wealth of experience as a player and coach and will no doubt use this to support the clubs' aspirations as we move into a new league campaign.

Mark who currently works at Sale Sharks as part of their community team has played for Newcastle Falcons, Viadana & Petracra (Italy), Fylde, Kendal & recently Macclesfield. He is also heavily involved in the Developing Player Programme (DPP), Sharks Development Group (SDG) & senior academy programme at Sale Sharks and is excited to develop his coaching craft alongside Head coach Matthew Bebbington and Director of Rugby Andrew Bird.

Having spoken at length with Mark over this recruitment process, it would seem that his values are aligned to that of Sandbach, having been involved in a range of organisations. We also feel he will bring value to us as a senior playing group and wider club, especially round the set-piece. Mark will also sign playing registration forms for Sandbach RUFC, which no doubt will provide us with additional depth, in what is a very experienced pack of forwards.

The appointment will also see Mark involved in the transition coaching for clubs current U16/17/18's.
