Please note that all of the above course’s are for anyone who is aged 14 and above, so if you what to Emulate Archie then something to think about. Many of the Guys are starting to Duke of Edinburgh awards, either through School or Scouts, and this is an ideal opportunity to develop a new skill and to volunteer by assisting the Mini and Junior section with coaching.
In addition, year 10 and 12 are currently getting careers advice through Mock interviews and CV writing, if they can show that they have done some volunteering this will help to impress a future College/University/Employer.
In addition, Sandbach will again be developing Match Officials, primarily Young Match Officials. The Manchester and District Referees’s Society (Madrefs) have currently got 12 YMO’s.
As last Season the aim is to provide YMO’s for The Cheshire U10’s Festival at Sandbach, and when the M/J section go on their combined tour in May, they will be taking along a team of YMO’s to officiate over the weekend. As above this is a great chance to learn a new skill and do some volunteering.
As last year prior to the Festival we are hoping to host a England Rugby Introduction to Refereeing course at the club. There is one at Congleton on Sunday 24th September (13:00 - 16:00) and is free to take and is open to anyone over the age of 14.
In addition, the England Rugby Referee Award will also take place at Reaseheath college

To complete the England Rugby Referee Award, you will be required to attend the whole course in the correct order i.e. Day 1 must be completed before Day 2 and you will need to participate in the webinar and communities of practice programme taking place Jan – Apr.
On course, you will work in groups with a Rugby Developer, who will be supported by a Course Leader. Some modules are led by the Rugby Developer; however, the emphasis will be on the learner to demonstrate their understanding & application of safe & effective coaching.
