Saturday sees the visit of Longton to Bradwall Road for a local derby between two teams who have been battling it out for decades, since the days of the Potteries Cup. Both teams have had mixed fortunes in the League this season, with each winning two and losing three so far. Longton edging it in League position, by virtue of an extra bonus point. Traditionally these games can go either way, with both having shared the spoils over the last couple of years, so there is no reason to think it will be any different this time. Longton have been strengthened by the return of Scott Rawlings as player coach, with the powerful former Fylde and Sale FC man appearing once more in the centre. Sandbach though will be pleased to see Mike Barlow the former Macclesfield man line up opposite him, as he returns having recently been out from injury. Expect some boisterous partisan support from both sides and the usual titanic battle.
