Sandbach return to action following the Christmas break with a trip to Lichfield, a ground where historically they have had little joy at, having lost on both occasions since Lichfield came into the League. Lichfield are renowned for playing an open and expansive style of rugby, so Sandbach will need to be aware of this and perhaps play a little tighter than is their norm, so as not to play in a style that suits the opposition. In the league game at home earlier in the season season 81 points were scored in total, with Sandbach taking it 57 v 24. Sandbach know however that they will need to not give Lichfield space and broken field to run into based on the previous encounters and not give penalties away in range, as the Lichfield fly half Luke Massey has one of the best kicking records in the league. Sandbach will however be buoyed by a couple of wins just before the break and will be looking to keep the run going.
