Having had a week’s break, Sandbach return to action at the weekend with a visit from the Leicester based Syston. Syston were promoted back at the first attempt two seasons ago and previously had been reasonably well established at National 3 Level for several years. Syston however have been struggling a touch so far this campaign and currently reside in the relegation zone. Sandbach know however that they cannot afford to take them lightly, as they have already claimed noticeable scalps this season, which the recent 5 v 22 win away at Old Halesonians proved.
Syston traditionally play a structured game and like to kick for position and play to their set piece strength, so Sandbach can expect a physical challenge, which they will need to match. The weekend should see a good crowd with a Past Players Lunch arranged beforehand and they will be hoping for dry weather and an open entertaining game, to try and combat the visitors envisaged approach.
