This Saturday looks like another busy one at Bradwall Road, as the 1st XV take on high fliers Macclesfield RUFC, who have started the season as they finished and are unbeaten so far this campaign. Meanwhile Sandbach are still trying to break their duck in a season that has been beset with injuries to key players and the problem of it taking a while to get fully acquainted, as young players bed in. They can take some heart though from the fact that the honours were shared last season in the league, with both teams winning the away game. While Macc edged it in the March Cheshire Cup final, but only after extra time, the scores being tied at twenty-four all after eighty minutes.
Sandbach will be hoping for a few more regular faces back from the treatment table, after a week off and with a big crowd also anticipated, they hope this will be enough to get things going again. There are no easy games in this league, with any side capable of causing an upset on their day, so lets hope it is Sandbach’s day come Saturday.
Meanwhile also fresh from an extended break, the Saxons are likewise at home to their Macclesfield counterparts in a double header, that is certain to create a lively clubhouse atmosphere afterwards. Whilst the Stormers make the short trip down the road to Holmes Chapel, to take on their 1st XV.
All the games this Saturday kick off at 3pm, while Bradwall Road also plays host to a 150-person strong pre match lunch and a bouncy castle for all your child entertainment needs.
Furthermore don’t forget that club will be showing every game from the Rugby World Cup as the tournament heats up for the remaining 8 teams. Wales v Argentina at 4pm and Ireland v New Zealand at 8 pm.
