After just four games without a win, it is not yet critical, but Saturday’s trip to Penrith is already shaping up as an important game for both teams. Bach have a worrying list of injuries mounting up, which is not helping their cause and with a few key players also moving on, have not had the start to the league campaign they would have hoped for.
Ali Burton suffered a hamstring injury and James Finucane is following Headcase Protocol, after last weeks game, which is further stretching the Bach’s resources, but by all account their opposition on Saturday have similarly endured injuries to key players. Last week the Bach had a couple of their coaches having to don their boots to help out, which certainly made a difference but hopefully this is only short term to win the players return to fitness and the Bach are something like their normal selves.
This understandably has had a ripple effect on the Saxons and Stormers and with many young players in their ranks it has been not a great start for them either. Spirits remain high though and the hard work being put in will surely pay off in the long run. The Saxons face another tricky challenge when they welcome Fylde 2’s to Bradwall Road, with the Stormers have Eagle first XV on the adjacent pitch. Whatever support from the side lines will be vital as they battle through these difficult moments, so whether travelling to see the Ones on the AGP at Winters Park, or at home, cheer the boys on.
