Once more it is a big weekend ahead with another double header on the road for the 1st & 2’s XV’s , while the Stormers are back in action at Bradwall Road, and the Rugby World Cup is on the big screens there later. Both the 1st XV and the Saxons head over to the Wirral, to take on new boys to the league, Anselmians RUFC. No doubt the Bach boys will be looking at this weekend as a good opportunity to get back to winning ways.
In the top game the home team will be keen to avenge their defeat just over a year ago to Sandbach, in the Cheshire Cup final and like the Leek fixture the Bach can expect another typical vocal partisan home crowd. Anselmians have a brand-new club house and pitch, having sold part of their land for housing and this has coincided with their rise up the leagues, over the last couple of seasons. Anselmians are led by the infamous ex Caldy boys the Salisbury brothers, so the Bach know that it will be no easy task and a hard-fought game can be expected.
The 3rd XV are holding down the fort at Bradwall Road and welcome Didsbury Toch H 2’s and they will be raring to go after a week’s rest. Then to top it off, round 2 of the RWC group games are back on the big screens at the club, where you can watch every game, including Engand v Japan on Sunday at 8pm.
