Whitewash Saturday for the senior sides with no Christmas cheer at all as the 1stXV went down by 0-5 at home to fellow strugglers Lymm. Sandbach started brightly and had some chances before leaking the only try of the game and then being pinned back by a determined Lymm pack. This has now put Sandbach in a precarious position in the relegation zone, two points adrift of the sides ahead. The other three sides fared no better, with the 2s losing at Lymm by the same score as the 1stXV. The 3s lost to Ashton-on-Mersey by 5-20 and the 4s were well beaten 0-20 at Hope Valley
Bit more cheerful on Sunday as the Senior Colts gained a walkover as Lymm failed to get a team together and the Junior Colts overcame an obstinate Sefton side by 20-5.
As we go into Christmas, it's a bit of a shame that there's nothing on over the Xmas period - the next matches for the Senior sides are not until next year, on 3rd Jan when the 1stXv travel to Chester in the next round of the Cheshire Vase; the 2nds are at home against Preston Grasshoppers and the 4ths & 5ths are also at home as they both take on Stockport. The 3rds travel to Macclesfield.
On 4th January, the Senior Colts travel to Kendal and the U14s are away at Harrowgate. The Junior Colts entertain Fylde at Bradwall Road, while the rest of the mini-juniors are training.
Sandbach RUFC 100 Club
We still need people to subscribe to the 100 Club. It is a monthly draw throughout the year, with prizes of £100, £60 & £40 on offer. Cost is £50.00 per number/annum. We would like to have the first draw at the end of January, so if you want to support the 100 Club, please contact Dave Tavernor at membership@sandbachrufc.co.uk or drop me a line.

Buy A Brick
We still need bricks to be bought as part of the development plans. We have had plenty of promises, but very little money. Details are available in the Club programme which is available on 1stXV match days. Please get those bricks bought!
Wishing everyone at the Club and all our friends in rugby a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Prosperous and Happy 2009
Cheers,
