Things have moved on apace with the development plans. The portacabins have been demolished and cleared; The top end of the car park has been lowered by some 4 feet or so, levelled and graded; the excess soil, rubble and debris has been removed to the bund on the new car park area; the site area for the Club extension has been cleared; the footings have been dug and concrete poured. In addition the high pressure sewer that runs beneath the Club car park was found to be broken & has been repaired and the electrical cable to the tractor shed was found to be too close to the surface, so that has been buried deeper. All labour has been voluntary and the work so far has been achieved at very little cost to the Club.
What we need now is help - we've run out of money for the project and are waiting for the RFU to approve a loan and grant application that we made last season - we won't know if we've been successful until April.
We also need building materials - if you or your company or your boss can help out in any way at all, we need bricks, breeze blocks, timber, nails, screws, guttering, pipework, plasterboard, roofing materials, electrical fittings, carpet, curtains - the list is endless and you can probably think of more stuff - we do have storage so if you can help in any small way, please let me, Grease, Robin Astles or Stubby know asap. Thank you.
