We had four players from the Jaguars and one from the Panthers unavailable today so again we had just enough players to put two teams on the field.
Both Teams played two games each against a combined Stoke-on Trent side
The overall result was: played 4, won 2, lost 2
Players of the Week
PANTHERS Patrick Gilligan - An excellent all round and typically fiesty performance from Patrick today
JAGUARS Milo - really upped his game at the ruck and maul today. he did everything he'd been asked to do and a bit more besides
WELL DONE
Sandbach Panthers 35 Stoke 0
The Panthers were in complete control from start to finish. They dominated every aspect of the game and thourougly deserved this win - a really pleasing team performance. We used our runners well and even passed it out to the wings. Both forwards and backs scored from opportunities created by team effort. The result was never in doubt.
Try scorers: Max, Oliver, Tom Blagborough, Kieran, Ewan (3)
Sandbach Jaguars 10 Stoke 20
Despite talking about needing to concentrate and improve our defence from start-ups we conceded four soft tries in the first half. All credit to the lads for the way they fought back in the second half with some terriffic rucking and mauling and much improved defence.
Try scorers: Jonno, Ewan (sub)
Sandbach Panthers 25 Stoke 10
We dominated the game apart from two breakaway tries, we need to start fast and concentrate all the game. Another excellent performance from the Panthers who dominated their opponents again.
Try scorers: Ewan (2), Matthew, James, Max
Sandbach Jaguars 10 v Stoke 25
This was a game we could and should have Won. Despite dominating territory and possesion and completely outscrummaging the opposition we reached half time at 10 - 10 but we should have been ahead. We dominated the second half too, keeping Stoke pinned down in their own half. We crossed the try line five times but couldn't get the ball down and conceded three breakaway tries. The result flattered Stoke and wasn't a true reflection of how well the Jaguars played for most of the game. Once again a few basic errors proved very costly.
Try scorer: Jonno (2)
ONCE AGAIN ALL THE PLAYERS SHOULD BE PROUD OF THEIR EFFORTS AND THE RUGBY THEY PLAYED TODAY. WE ARE IMPROVING ALL THE TIME AND IF WE CONTINUE TO LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES AND CUT OUT THE ERRORS WE WILL BE A MATCH FOR ANYONE
STAY PROUD AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, WE ARE NOT THAT FAR AWAY!
