PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - Tom Blagbrough & Tom Nelson.
They both played fantastic rugby today - competing for everything, communicating with the team, tackling and rucking.
Well done lads!
A nice warm day in Congleton was equaled by the welcome from Congleton U10's who had 16 players, we decided to play as much rugby as possible so opted for 10 minute 'half's'.
We played 5 games of mixed sides with the Sandbach boys winning 4 and losing 1. All games were played to the laws and spirit of the game that we love!
We played open flowing rugby in all games and were rewarded with the try's we have been missing over the last few weeks.
Game 1 - Congleton 0 - 5 Sandbach Panthers
We never let Congleton near our try line and we were rewarded with a break away try. Just desserts.
Try - Ewan.
Game 2 - Congleton 5 - 20 Sandbach Jaguars
The best performance from the Jaguars we have seen all year. They competed for everything and won most. Our smallest pack of the season won against the biggest pack we have ever played - WOW! They are really starting to gel as a unit and we are now seeing the full potential of these boys. Again we passed the ball out and let our wings do the bizz.
Trys - Lawrence x 2, Tom B, Jonno.
Game 3 - Congleton 5 - 15 Sandbach Panthers
Always in charge, a few missed tackles led to their try but we camped out in their half for all of the game. A couple of passing phases and bingo!
Trys - Ewan x 3
Game 4 - Congleton 15 - 5 Sandbach Jaguars
Missed tackles cost us in this match although we were the better team. Still we played some great passing rugby, there were a couple of forward passes and knock-ons by us which stopped us from scoring and we would of won.
Try - Milo
Game 5 - Congleton 0 - 10 Sandbach Pan/Jag Mixed
We just controlled the game from the off, we passed, rucked and mauled like we know we can.
Trys - Lawrence, Max.
Well done to all the lads, they were challenged to pass the ball out to the wings and to ruck as a unit.
They did both these and we won!
Great team performance & many thanks to the 'barmy army' of mums & dads who are always there cheering & encouraging the team.
