Senior Colts

Waterloo 14 - Sandbach 59 Sun 17 November 2002 What a trip going to Waterloo!! Its got to be one of the most complicated set of directions of all local fixtures. Surprisingly we all arrived more or less on time. As far as the match was concerned this, as the score suggests, wasn't much of a contest. Waterloo showed great resilience, especially in the forwards scoring a try in each half to keep the game interesting. Sandbach backs comprising Hughes, Flower, Massey, Stuart and Howard were really too much for the home team. Many thanks go to Dave Watson, Mark Stuart and then John Flower who took turns to play for Waterloo and add some defensive bite to their backs. All Sandbach players performed admirably and are beginning to meld into a useful squad. The forwards deserve some credit for the turnaround in performance in the second half. Next week the Senior Colts move to Preston Gripfastners for a 12.00 noon kick-off in a regional play-off for the National Colts Cup. If we pass this test we then travel to Coventry (Barkers Butt) in the national rounds.
