Glossop 5 - Sandbach 20 Sun 2 November 2008 Sandbach Under 18 squad went up to a cold and windy Glossop on Sunday and came away with a nice warm feeling of a well deserved win. We mixed in some players from Buxton to make up a 15 a side game that despite the weather was a quick and open game. Our forwards dominated the loose and there was some of the best rucking that I have seen with this squad. The backs worked well with tries coming from a mixture of the backs and forwards scoring the tries. The move of the game was off a scrum 15 metres off the Glossop line, we won the put in and Mollie picked up at number 8 and committed the flanker, she popped the ball away to Jordan who got past the stand off before popping the ball to Nieve who scored under the posts, straight off the training ground, it was a pleasure to see. Both teams played well and played in the right spirit, most of the Cheshire U18 squad were on show throughout the game which bodes well for the forthcoming county games as the commitment and skill level was of a high standard.
