Crewe & Nantwich 2 - Sandbach 5 Sun 14 January 2001 On a day when the fixture should have really been cancelled, the Sandbach team skated their way to victory in a nostalgic return to TOUCH RUGBY. Special recognition goes to Micheal, Jonathan and Katy who slipped (pun intended) into black and white to help C&N field a team. Even these three, playing very well, were unable to help the home side create many chances, and a first half deficit of one try to two was never going to be overturned. Its good to note that both sides have obviously developed an increasing awareness, as there were no forward pass infringements, and there were one or two excellent passages of passing and supportive play. In the end, Sandbach ran out worthy victors, showing a good deal of the flair that took them to the final of last years Cheshire Cup.
