Stoke Festival Champions 5 - Sandbach 100 Sun 24 April 2005 The Panthers took home their 5th trophy of the season by winning the Stoke Festival, by defeating Stoke, Burton, Mold and Derby. They remain unbeaten, and now travel to the Southport festival as defending champions next weekend, to end a season that will be treasured in the memory. After a slow start against the hosts Stoke, Sandbach warmed to the increasing temperature of the day to produce a performance that was imaginative, visionary, artistic, and beautifully presented, to an appreciative audience. Sandbach won their pool, before going on to convincingly defeat Derby in the semi-final, and then face Stoke in the final. Special mention goes to fly half Ollie Moore for an outstanding performance in all aspects of his play, and to the Sandbach B team, who won all their pool games to finish top of their group, before being beaten 10-0 in the semi-final by Stoke.
