For many years in the late 1980s to around 1995, Bert was our ‘Red Cross man'. Bert was at the club most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season offering expert treatment, advice and a reassuring word to senior and mini/junior players alike. In the days before we became aware of the need for first aiders and professional physios, Bert was there for the club.

The minis and juniors especially owe a huge debt to Bert for the hours of service, come rain or shine, that Bert gave to our club. Loved and respected by all Bert will be sadly missed.

Bert’s funeral service will be at St Mary’s Sandbach on Friday 29th January at 11.00am. No 1s for all attending please.
