As reported at the AGM the project has committee approval and would start w/c 22/5, and as you can see, it has now started. At the AGM we reported this is part of our long term strategic plan and our community involvement which will not only provide benefits and income for the club for our future, but also benefits for the town and the community.

There were valid points raised during the committee discussions and we need to take note and ensure we carefully manage the forecasted budget. Fortunately the same team of past chairmen Rob Mayor and Robin Astles and long standing committee member Jon Stubbs, who managed the clubhouse extension and delivered well under budget are again driving this new build.

The building is behind the under 8’s pitch, the one behind the sponsors lounge (now re named the Sovereign Suite).This is an area formally used as an overflow training area for mini training, this means we are not losing any pitches.

The plan is for the building to be a commercial gym managed by an external operator of which we are in discussions with 2 possible tenants. One half will be the fitness suite other half will be a room for gym classes and which we can block book for our own uses, e.g. winter training, mini changing on Sundays, Offley Road school for class/external work.
